David Bogaev, Tenor

In the 2023-2024 season, American tenor David Bogaev made his professional debut as Giuseppe in La traviata and Lackey 3 in Der Rosenkavalier with The Santa Fe Opera as an Apprentice Artist. During his time with The Santa Fe Opera, he also sang in the choruses of La traviata, Der Rosenkavalier, Don Giovanni, and in the world premiere of The Righteous. Additionally, David performs with The Dallas Opera as a member of the chorus.

 

Previous performances include Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, Leo in Regina, and Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi with UNT Opera as well as Doctor Miracle in Bizet’s Doctor Miracle with The Dallas Opera as an Outreach Artist.

 

David most recently won first place in the Texoma Region NATSAA competition and was a NATSAA semifinalist at the National competition in January. However, when David is not performing or competing, he teaches voice at Texas Wesleyan University and Tarrant County College as an Adjunct Professor of Voice. David received his Master’s in Voice Performance from the University of North Texas under William Joyner and is a graduate of James Madison University. David is currently a student of renowned tenor Clifton Forbis.
